Day 1 – Welcome to Antigua
Day 1 – Welcome to Antigua

We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Antigua.

Day 2 – Pacaya
Day 2 – Pacaya

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel to transfer you to Pacaya Volcano where a 2 and 1/2 hour hike is required to reach the top. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at the summit and soak up the magnificent view. After the picnic, you will start hiking back to the vehicle for your transfer to Antigua.

Day 3 – Antigua Half Day Walking Tour & Coffee Tour
Day 3 – Antigua Half Day Walking Tour & Coffee Tour

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel to start your walking tour around Antigua. You will visit the Central Plaza, where you can find the main buildings, San Francisco and beautiful facade of La Merced. Afterwards, transfer you to the coffee hacienda just a few minutes away from Antigua. You will learn about the process, from hand picking the grain to have it ready to serve. Dinner is on your own.

Day 4 – Biking Tour

Escape Antigua for the day and tour the countryside on a mountain bike. During the tour you will see some naturally formed ruins. Visit an experimental macadamia farm at a sustainable agriculture project and explore the villages of Santiago Zamora and San Antonio Aguas Calientes, famous for their textiles and weavings.

Day 5 - Chichicastenango
Day 5 - Chichicastenango

You will be transferred to Chichicastenango. Explore the town on your own and walk around the bustling market and visit Santo Tomas church. In this 400 year old church, you will witness syncretism, a term which means a mix of two religions. After the tour, you will hike to Pascual Abaj, a moderate hike to get to this Mayan Shrine where worshipers gathered regularly to perform ceremonies. Transfer to Lake Atitlan.

Day 6 – Kayak & Cerro de Oro Hike
Day 6 – Kayak & Cerro de Oro Hike

Your guide will take you on a 45 minute kayaking tour along some delightful peninsulas so you can admire the shore's beautiful gardens. Once at Cerro de Oro's base, you will hike through the local village. After a one-hour climb you will reach the summit where you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the area. After hike, your guide will transfer you back to your hotel.

Day 7 – Village Tour

Your guide will take you on a private boat tour of two very different and unqiue towns on the lake shore: San Juan la Laguna and Santiago Atitlan. Santiago is home to Maximon, a venerated pagan saint who smokes tobacco and drinks moonshine and who resides in a different house each year. San Juan la Laguna is a quieter and much less visited and is home to several textile co-ops and art galleries.

Day 8 – Iximche & Flight to Peten
Day 8 – Iximche & Flight to Peten

You will be transfer to Guatemala City to take a short flight to Flores, Peten. En route visit to Iximche, a Pre Columbian Mayan site in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. It was the capital of the Late Pre-classic Kaqchikel kingdom from 1470 until its abandonment in 1524 with the Spaniards arrival. The area of Petén is the largest department of Guatemala and occupies about a third of the country but only contains over three percent of its population. This area produces wood, chewing gum, oil, pepper and other agricultural products. Its' main income comes from the worldwide known cradle of the Mayan civilization.

Day 9 – Ixpanpajul
Day 9 – Ixpanpajul

An early transfer will take you to the airport for your flight to Petén. On arrival a representative of Maya Trails will pick you up at Mundo Maya airport and transfer you to Ixpanpajul Park for zip lining, afterwards transfer to hotel for check in. At 14:00hr guide will transfer you to Yaxhá Archaeological Site for a beautiful sunset tour. After the sunset your guide will transfer you back to the hotel.

Day 10 – Tikal
Day 10 – Tikal

You will be transfer to the world famous Tikal archeological site. The tour covers the most important temples such as Complex Q, Temple IV, Lost World, Central Plaza, surrounding temples as well as North and South Acropolis. Lunch is served in a restaurant in the middle of the jungle. Afterwards, you will be transferred to the airport for your local flight. We will meet you at the airport to transfer you to your hotel in Guatemala City.

After breakfast a transfer will take you to the airport for your departure flight.
