Welcome to Nicaragua, the Land of Lakes and Volcanoes! The city of León is a cultural-historical city with an authentic atmosphere where visitors can easily connect with the locals.

The center with its colonial buildings, beautiful churches and the cathedral which has been declared as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site, are only some of León´s many attractions. Welcome Dinner and overnight at the charming hotel El Convento.

Day 2 – Leon City tour and Cerro Negro

Visit revolutionary murals, baroque/neoclassical churches and an art museum with works of internationally renowned artists. Explore the local market and colonial buildings; the tour ends with a visit to the picturesque rooftop of the largest cathedral of Central America.

In the afternoon enjoy an exciting tour on Cerro Negro. Cerro Negro is the youngest volcano in Central America as well as one of the most active ones!

The tour begins with a visit to the plantation in Chichigalpa, where Flor de Caña, known as the worlds’ finest rum, grows their sugar cane. You will then visit the production facility to learn about the history, production, and conservation of the product and taste the award-winning rum.

In the afternoon, visit San Jacinto mudfields. This ‘out of the world’ experience involves a visit to these boiling mud holes heated by the nearby volcanoes. Continue to a local home to participate in a local tortilla-making workshop; where you’ll learn to make this traditional staple food on a woodstove.

Day 4 – To El Cuco, El Salvador

Transfer to Potosí, a small fishing village and the connecting point between Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras.

The coastlines of El Salvador and Honduras can be seen from this point. You will stop at one of the islands to have local lunch and swim in the ocean.

After Immigrations in La Union short 50 min drive to El Cuco, one of the most beautiful beaches in El Salvador at the more remote east coast just surrounded by a small fisherman’s village: El Cuco. Las Flores Resort is located in front of world class surf break Las Flores!

Morning Surf Lesson! Playa Las Flores is the ideal venue for learning to surf or taking your surfing to the next level. Las Flores is a unique sand bottom point break that combines the best features of a point break (a long peeling wave) with the forgiving sand bottom of a beach break.

Kayak tour through the mangroves of Esteron. Esteron is home for more than 17 species that live in the mangrove forest full of natural resources, we will kayak for 2 hours through the channels and enter the deep mangrove swamps try to see them. You can observe birds, crabs in different colours and fish. At the end of the tour you will see the sun going down slowly which gives a beautiful sunset!

Day 6 –  Visit to rural school
Day 6 – Visit to rural school

In the morning visit a local rural school of Tempiscal, one of the social projects we support in the surroundings of the resort. You can donate some supplies if you like, play with the kids, help them with some English classes, play soccer or, if the group is big enough, paint one of the classrooms! We will bring a Piñata to the school to celebrate the visit with them.

Afternoon at leisure.
