Upon arrival to La Aurora International Airport, driver will take you to the hotel for overnight at Guatemala City.

In the morning you will visit the archeological site of Joya de Ceren, which was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1993 for being the only location in the whole Mayan World where you can appreciate the day to day living styles of the popular pre-Columbian inhabitants. After this we travel to San Andres maya site, which was inhabited by Mayans between AD 600 and 900 where you will visit a small onsite museum.

Suchitoto dates back to pre-Columbian times and on the arrival of the Spanish it was one of the area’s most densely populated by the Pipiles.  Walking through the narrow streets of the city of Suchitoto, learn its history and its conservation by seeing all of the full colonial buildings and cobblestone streets, and visit the cultural treasures of the Church of Santa Lucia on the main plaza, panoramic streets, old houses, and the “theater of the ruins”.

Your  guide picks you up to enjoy a city tour, we stroll the main streets of the colonial city, visit the World Heritage UNESCO Site, Catedral de León and learn about the culture and history of the first capital of Nicaragua. Afternoon at leisure, optional visit to Cerro Negro Volcano.

Visit revolutionary murals, baroque/ neoclassical churches and an art museum with works of internationally renowned artists. Explore the local market and colonial buildings; the tour ends with a visit to the picturesque rooftop of the largest cathedral of Central America.

You are transferred to Granada, a beautiful colonial town situated at the Lake of Nicaragua. Along the way, you visit the Masaya volcano and Masaya artisanal market. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon at leisure to explore on your own the city. Visit La Calzada Street, famous for the nightlife and the different gastronomic options in it!

The Tour  starts at Masaya Volcano National Park. Your driver will bring you to the summit of the volcano, where you can peek inside the active crater. Your next stop is Masaya´s artisan market, where you can purchase quality Nicaraguan handicrafts.

Situated at the foot of Mombacho volcano, Las Isletas consist of around 360 small forest-covered islands, formed by a volcanic eruption 20,000 years ago. You will be transferred to the harbor where you'll meet the captain and board a motor boat. During the tour, your guide will point out the exotic flora and fauna, to later stop at one of the islands, and visit the San Pablo fort, built in the 18th century to protect Granada against English pirates. Beverages are included during the tour.

Laguna de Apoyo, is located between Granada and Masaya and was formed thousands of years ago, when a volcano exploded. In 1991, the lagoon was declared as a natural reserve. Laguna de Apoyo is said to have the cleanest water of all fresh water lakes in Nicaragua.

The lake is easily accessible by car but still far from being overcrowded, and with its warm water and beautiful surroundings it attracts many visitors, international as well as domestic. Laguna de Apoyo offers many activities to spend the day with; relax in one of the hotels at the shore of the lake or take walks to encounter monkeys, hummingbirds, toucans and much more. The flora and fauna in this region are incredibly diverse.
